What the pronunciation checker measures
Three numbers on every line. Accuracy is how close each sound you made was to the sound a native speaker would make. Fluency is whether the line came out at speaking pace or in pieces. Rhythm is whether you stressed the words a native speaker stresses and hurried the ones they hurry.
Under the numbers, every word is coloured: green at 80 or above, orange from 50 to 79, red under 50. Tap a red word and it opens into its sounds, so you see which one let it down — the word, not the sentence, is where the fix is.
How to read your score
Do not chase 100. A line in the 80s said at natural speed is better English than a line at 95 said one word at a time. Look at the colours instead: the same word going red across different sentences is a sound to work on; a red word that appears once is usually just a slip.
The line also marks where two words should have run together and where you should have paused. Those marks are worth more than a point or two of accuracy, because linking and pausing are what make speech sound like speech.
All 41 sounds, tracked over time
Every check you do feeds one screen: the 41 sounds of American English, each coloured by how you have been saying it over the last 30 days. Most learners find three or four in orange and red, and those few are their accent.
Open a sound and you get a clip of the mouth making it, where the tongue and lips go, words to try it in, and the mistake speakers of your mother tongue usually make with it. Fix one, and the words that contain it turn green on their own.
